23/365 – Warmth

A couple of random tidbits about this image:

I so enjoy the house I live in mostly because of the huge amount of light that comes through the big kitchen windows in the afternoon. It is just beautiful, I love it.

I had to go to Goodwill for school a week ago, and I found these little tins while there, and I couldn’t resist buying them. Hopefully soon I will get some grass growing in them, I am very excited about it (I get excited about tiny things).

And lastly, this picture just makes me so happy for some reason. Part of it is the warm and bright sunlight. Part of it is the blue colors. I’m not completely sure, but when I look at it, it just relaxes and calms me. Again, it is the simple things that make me happy.

The days fly by

I have been meaning to post some from previous days that I liked, but just haven’t gotten around to it until now. They are all very random now, so bear with me.

This is the back door to my house, I always love how the light looks coming through those dirty panes of glass.

I found this on my walk around the house today, it is the snow that piled onto my air conditioner.

I am addicted to tea, I have had 4 cups a day on occasion.

And lastly, I have found the best nap spot for afternoon naps. It is wonderful.

22/365 – Mountain

It snowed a decent amount last night, and as I always do when it snows here, I walked around my house looking for interesting things. This is the snow that had piled up onto my table on top of the candle that sits there. I didn’t notice the falling snow until I looked on my computer, always an exciting little treat!

9/52 – Calm

Well, I have decided to try to keep up the 52 week project after all. But, I am not going to be upset with myself if I don’t get a shot for a week. And, I am going to allow myself to let them count for my 365 as well if need be.

It snowed all night and we have a couple of inches on the ground. I thought it fitting that I would have a nice warm cup of tea, and I liked how my hands looked around the mug, so I thought that it would be a good self-portrait for the week.

12/365 – Experiment

My classroom this morning is used for an elementary education class at some point during the week and they are doing some sort of experiment. They had 2 boxes sitting on a shelf that were sitting on their sides. They were completely covered in tinfoil and had a tinfoil sheet hanging on the front. There was a light in each box, and plants growing in water bottles contraptions that they had created. As soon as I walked into the room they caught my eye. In part because of the shiny tinfoil (I sound like such a little kid), and partly because the light inside had such a warm glow. As well as the fact that the little bit of green made me happy with the cold weather that has moved in.

20/365 – Colors

I just recently started wearing makeup more often. It is partly because of a picture from last semester, because I needed good makeup and a range of colors for it. This kit is from Sephora, and I have fallen in love with it pretty much.

And, on a side note, I have decided to pretty much end my 52 week project for now. I don’t know why I started the 365 when I had just started the 52 week project not too long before. It was silly of me especially knowing my school schedule for this semester. So, there will no longer be a specific 52 week shot sadly. I will try to do a self portrait from time to time for my 365 however.

19/365 – Rotted

I feel as thought I should explain something. My day is not from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm. My day, this semester at least, usually runs from 8:00 am until 2:00 or 3:00 am. And so, according to my schedule, this picture is for 1-27. I hope that clears things up. This picture was taken in one of my classroom buildings. It is a super old place, without air conditioning among other things, and I found this window just completely rotted away. Such a good place for a classroom isn’t it?

17/365 – Strange Weather

This picture is from yesterday (1-25), but I didn’t have my computer or internet access all day, so today is my first chance to post this. The weather was just absurd yesterday. It was 60 degrees on sunday, then it dropped to below freezing yesterday with some strong wind. It was sunny in the morning, then clouded up and there were some flurries. Then it got partly sunny again, but soon started just pouring rain. The rain stopped for a bit, and then it started hailing/snowing like crazy. Then it was sunny again, and not 10 minutes later, it was snowing/icing extremely heavily. I was driving home from class at this point and seeing was difficult at times. Then it turned to big, soft, puffy clumps of snow, and got sunny again for a little. Finally, it clouded back up and flurried off and on for the rest of the night. It was interesting to say the least. So, when I got home from class it was still the ice/snow mix, and I ran inside to grab my camera and take some pictures. I will post a few potentially within the next few days. But for now, here is day 17.

16/365 – Working Hard

I am in a ceramics studio this semester, which is going to be interesting. I have never dealt with ceramics at all before, and so that alone is going to provide a challenge. Plus, I don’t deal much with 3D things, and so that is a challenge for me as well. There are so many other reasons that the class is going to be difficult for me, but it is late and I have an 8 am class.

I took this photo earlier in the day (I promise, I did take this on the 24th), while in studio, but am just now having time to upload.  They are my friend’s hands, but we are basically the same person, so this might as well be a self portrait. We discovered tonight that when we tell the story of how we became friends it becomes similar to a story of a couple meeting, which caused a good laugh.
