Well, I took lots of pictures when I was home. And I liked a lot of them. And I am sitting on my couch with the windows open because it is 61 degrees out, and so I thought what better time to post pictures? So here you go, enjoy a quick view into my stay in the frozen tundra for break.

Happy New Years Eve!!
Pixel had to come to my house today because of maintenance on Elliot’s apartment. At Elliot’s he doesn’t have a place to just sit and look out the window, and so a good chunk of the day was spent on my bed, or on the top of the couch watching outside.
Yesterday was another 12 hour drive, this time back to Lexington. I got back, went to see Elliot, and then was exhausted so I just didn’t want to deal with a picture. And, because I was driving all day, here is a lovely phone picture for you.
Ten days.
Today was a perfect last day in Stillwater. Lunch with Kelley and Blair, then taking pictures downtown Stillwater with my good friend Alec, and drinking coffee and catching up with Alec and two other good friends, Hannah and Anders. It couldn’t have been a better night. And downtown Stillwater is beautiful.
Oh, and much much thanks to Alec for helping me find places to take pictures, and essentially acting as my creative director!!!
Now to go to bed so that I can get up and drive 13 hours back to Lexington.

I went out to take some self-portraits tonight, which failed, but while walking into my backyard I notice the long shadows on the snow, and how many colors there were because of the setting sun. I couldn’t resist.

Last night I got to hang out with my two most wonderful girl friends for the first time in a year. Kelley, Blair, and I were finally all in Stillwater at the same time, and so we managed to get together to catch up and watch a movie. And it was beyond wonderful. I missed those girls so much. And if you are reading this, I love you both!!
Anyways, (sorry for that personal stuff there), by the time the movie was over it was late, I was exhausted, and I didn’t have a picture. I was planning on just heading home and finding something in my house, but as I was walking out I saw the pot with the pine and lights, and the snow piled on top of it all. Snow on top of Christmas lights is always one of the most beautiful things to me, so I decided to take a few pictures before walking to my car.

I have known that I wanted my picture on Christmas day to be of my baby ornament for weeks. So here you go, my “baby’s first Christmas” ornament.

Today was so busy that I almost forgot to take a picture. We went to church, and then went to my brother’s house to hang out for a bit and then have our traditional Christmas Eve dinner of potato soup, and then continue the tradition of opening one present. My oldest brother got the movie Inception from his wife, and so after opening a present we watched inception and ate apple pie. It was so lovely. I remembered after the movie, as we were getting ready to head home, that I didn’t have a picture, so I took some quick of the lights on the railing. It was a hurried, and somewhat last-minute shot, so by no means is it that great. But, I am trying to finish strong, only fifteen more days after all!

My oldest brother and his wife are in town, and I couldn’t be more excited! They both climb a lot, including ice climbing. Kyle (my brother) had heard of a spot not far from our house in MN where we could do some ice climbing. I was so excited because he was going to anchor me to the top so I could take pictures. But, we hiked out there and there wasn’t a single chunk of ice on the cliff. It was fairly disappointing, but we had a nice hike, and went back to the house to play some hockey. Plus, the rest of the day involved an excellent dinner with all of us, some playing of sporcle, and then going to see a Thelonious Monk tribute band in downtown St. Paul. It couldn’t have been better.

My brother and his wife worked hard to shovel off a rink on our pond for us to play some hockey on in the next few days since everyone is home. I went out there a bit later, and we carried down their fire pit, got a fire going, and then did some skating around. It was so wonderful!
More to come from this day as well, I took a lot of pictures. This probably (well, I know it wasn’t) the strongest or best photograph I took, but it summed up the day so nicely, and I just love how the fire looked, and so I decided to use this one as my main shot.
