37/365 – Beautiful Timing

There is absolutely nothing that makes me happier than a stunning sunset at a perfect location. And after an immensely difficult day yesterday, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

More to come most likely.

11/365 – Summer Sky

Yesterday was a bit of a crazy day. I took this at the Lexington Legends game, and then didn’t get home until super late and so I didn’t have a chance to post. But, is there anything more wonderful than an incredible sky while watching a baseball game during the summer?

305/365 – Swiftly

The clouds this evening were so beautiful. I only had a few minutes before class, but I ran inside and switched my lens and ran back out and took a bunch. It isn’t the most interesting or exciting picture, but it had been a while since I had done a sky shot, and I love clouds, so I am ok with it.

273/365 – Pure Loveliness.

**Still catching up…but getting there.

Saturday, October 9

This is my wonderful roommate Whitney. All week I knew that I wanted to go on a photo shoot with her on Saturday, and had an idea in mind (loosely, but an idea at least) with a location and everything. So we drove out to Raven Run, and as we were walking up to the nature center we heard someone say that the trails were closing in ten minutes so we couldn’t start a trail. So, luckily there was an open field (which was what I wanted) right by the nature center. It was all really tall grass, which had its fluffy seeds out (technical, I know), and there were a few spots with no grass because of the recent construction there. So we were out there taking some pictures, and picked some of the grass seeds for her to hold, and a guy from the nature center comes walking out (through the field mind you) to tell us that we aren’t supposed to be off of the trail, and we need to get back on the trail and went on about that for a few minutes, and then told us that we weren’t supposed to pick the flowers. So then I got annoyed and kind of frustrated that the trails closed so early and that they wouldn’t let me like 10 feet off of the trail. So we decided to go somewhere else. We headed to the Arboretum, which, after getting stuck in traffic miles out from there I realized that there was a football game that night, so it was take a half hour to go about a mile. I gave up and headed home, and wanted to take some self portraits, so we went in the backyard. I had my camera on the tripod, and at one point went to raise it up using the “crank” and it simply snapped off in my hand. So, overall, not a good day for photo shoots. But, luckily Whitney is beautiful and so easy to take pictures of. And hilarious so we had a blast anyways.

And sorry for the super long story. This is what happens when I post at 1:00 am…I ramble.

186/365 – Parking Lot Glow

I feel as though I am one of the few that could look at a parking lot and think it looks beautiful. The sun was getting low, leaving that perfect golden glow, and the newly surfaced lot was just incredibly beautiful. I couldn’t resist taking a picture (although I did try because I didn’t want people looking at me like I was crazy). I may potentially upload a few others of this as well, just because I loved it so much.

Oh, and this is completely 100% straight out of the camera. It is exactly what I saw.

68/365 – Purple Blooms

My wonderful boyfriend, Elliot, and I went on a walk today while his laundry was going (which probably wasn’t a good idea since my ankle has now swelled way back up). I am so lucky that he is so patient with me and doesn’t get annoyed when I stop to take pictures every five steps. I absolutely love crocuses and they are blooming all over Lexington, so I am just in heaven.

I may not be able to post for the rest of the week, tomorrow I will have an insanely busy day, and then for the weekend I will be in NC for a wedding. So, on that note, have a great weekend everyone!

Keep your eyes out for a ton more pictures that I absolutely fell in love with while on this walk!
