343/366 – Tiramisu

The past week has been a whirlwind. Last week I somewhat spontaneously decided to make a trip to South Dakota to visit my brother and his family before coming back to Manhattan. Between getting ready for that, saying goodbyes, and my adventure there I haven’t had a chance to post. However, I am back in Manhattan now so it is time to get caught up. There are some exciting pictures to come!

Friday was a busy day of last-minute get togethers and goodbyes. I met up with one of my best friends for “lunch” at a local cafe where I indulged in some delicious tiramisu.

193/365 – Coffee and Cream

I am constantly fascinated with how liquids behave, especially drops into liquids. I don’t think it is something that I will ever get used to or grow sick of seeing.

I am not a huge coffee drinker despite the fact that I own a coffee maker (left to me by my sister-in-law). However when my dad was in town he bought some coffee and creamer, and so I decided today I needed to drink so. Plus it was just a good day for it. I recently saw a picture on Flickr of a drop of cream into coffee and so I wanted to give it a try. I know it isn’t the most interesting or spectacular image, but I am pretty happy with the results. I may upload a couple of others, at different “‘stages” of the drop.

I used a SB-600 on camera, bounced off a wall, but unfortunately cannot remember what I had it set at. Any feedback would be appreciated, I am always looking to improve!
