88/365 – Miniature Planet

Just like yesterday I was taking one set of photographs and happened on another. I liked my other ones, but was thinking my 365 needed a macro and abstract shot since it had been a while. I plan on re-shooting the other idea at some point, once I get some more materials.

As for this shot, does any one have any guesses as to what it is?

50/365 – Refreshing Colors

When trying to decide what to take a picture of each day I generally look back at the things I have done recently so that I can keep things varied and keep pushing myself in all directions. I know I just did a flower photograph the other day, but I decided that there wasn’t enough bright colors in my work lately, so I wanted to change that.

358/365 – Bonsai

Elliot had a bonsai when he was younger, and had been wanting another one for a while, so I got him one for his birthday. It sure has had quite the life so far. Pixel decided he liked it, and the first day we had it he ate a few leaves and dug at the dirt a little. I thought that it would be safe on top of the microwave (which is on a microwave stand), but he jumped up there and somehow knocked it off, spilling the top layer of rocks and sand, loosening the tree up, and somehow managing to break his water bowl but not the planter during this process. In the couple of weeks after that the little tree lost almost all of it’s leaves and I was sure it was dying. Elliot however was convinced it was fine, and sure enough, there is tons of new growth! The sun was shinning this afternoon when I stopped over, and I figured it was a perfect time to get some pictures.

333/365 – Snow Flake

**Wow I got behind. I will explain the reasoning for each day with each picture.

Wednesday, December 8

Wednesday morning I dropped off my compter to have the plastic replaced. It was cracked on the edges, and there is a guy near Elliot’s work who gets paid by Apple to fix it for free. So I was without my computer until late Thursday night, at which point I didn’t have the energy to edit and post. But, we still had snow covering everything on Wednesday and so I really wanted another picture of it before it all melted. And, the last little covering we got was the fake looking snow, so everything was extra pretty.

309/365 – Moon

Last night Elliot and I went to visit his parents. They own some land out in the middle of no where, and his dad has built a cabin up there and such. We went because his dad owns a telescope, and with Jupiter being so close at the moment we decided to hook our cameras up to the telescope and take some pictures. The moon was insanely bright last night, so we also took some shots of the moon, obviously. I am pretty happy with how some turned out, it was tough to keep it in the frame and making sure it was focused was tricky as well. But, regardless, it was a fun process and so cool to see the moon and Jupiter with so much detail! So thank you Mr. Sweat for letting me use your telescope and expertise!

I did some star trails as well, so this weekend I will try to get those up here.

300/365 – Strangeness

Friday, November 5

These are the gel beads that I used for day 294, with some reverse lens because that makes everything interesting.

And day 300? Really? How did that happen?
