334/366 – Christmas
169/366 – Drive
*Friday, October 10
Yesterday I drove from Kansas to Kentucky. I left when it was still dark and saw the sun come up. There were so many times that I wanted to stop and take some photographs, but I was determined to get to KY asap so that I could see my fiance and so stopping was not an option.
Both images were taken with my phone. The left was in Kansas, and the right in Indiana.
181/366 – Camping
35/366 – Frost Snow
I spent the night at my sister’s house in Minneapolis last night, and when we woke up to go get breakfast we discovered it had snowed just a tiny bit over night. It was such a frost like snow and was really beautiful. Plus this winter has been such a lame winter that any bit of snow is exciting to me.
I wish I could start every morning with fresh snow.
14/366 – Winter Days
62/365 – American
I am back to civilization after a week-long camping trip in Rocky Mountain National Park! Before I get down to the picture and explanation of the day, I should give a quick update.
We drove straight through yesterday (almost a 17 hour trip), and got in late last night. So now it is time to play catch up, which is going to take some serious work. I am incredibly backed up on everything now. Between the wedding I shot the day before I left and the hundreds of pictures that I took each day while camping, it is going to take me a while to sort through everything and get caught up. I only have a week in Minnesota before I head back to Kentucky, so I also have lots of catching up to do with friends that I haven’t seen in almost 9 months. Add in various things that my mom wants me to get done for her (paintings and prints), and keeping up with my 365, it is going to be a crazy busy week. I will be posting lots to get back on track, and will be giving accounts of each day with the picture as well. Then, after I am caught up on my 365 and wedding stuff, I will post all of the pictures from the trip that didn’t make the main 365 image. So stick with me as I try to sort through everything and get organized and caught up!
*Saturday, July 30 – Somewhere in South Dakota (I think)
After getting just a couple of hours of sleep I woke up to finish packing and get ready for the trip with my family. We were on the road by 8:30am or so, and headed to my brother’s house in South Dakota where we spent the night before continuing on to Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP). This was taken at one of the many stops for gas, but I can’t remember if it was in Minnesota or South Dakota.
49/365 – Grilling
While watching the world cup final today I made dinner with a friend this evening. It was absolutely delicious. And yes I am doing yet another food diptych.
And of course please remember to go vote for my portfolio and tell everyone that you know! You can vote once a day. I so appreciate each and every vote I can get, thank you for the support!
320/365 – Happy Thanksgiving!
I figured since today is thanksgiving my picture should be related. So, here is our delicious turkey before and after. I can’t even begin to say how thankful I am to be home this thanksgiving, I love my family so much! Thank you all for the incredible support you have given me!
Happy thanksgiving to all you wonderful people out there! I hope you all had an excellent day!

276/365 – Star Fruit
**Catching up..
Tuesday, October 12
A few days before this Elliot and I had gone to the grocery store, and right up front were some star fruits. My mom would buy them occasion when I was a kid, and so I decided I wanted to get one. Plus I thought it would make for a cool picture. It was perhaps slightly too ripe when I actually got around to eating it, but still tasty and fun.
