I finally made time for a self-portrait that I have had in mind for months now. The light was just right and so I grabbed my camera and tripod, covered myself in paint, slapped on my new fake eye lashes, and started shooting. I ended up with a few that I was really happy with, and may share at some point.
Hello again! It has been quite a while since posting here, or at least writing anything in-depth. And the reason for tonight’s post? Here I go again ladies and gentlemen, another 365. I knew I wanted to do another project, but recently I felt like my “photographic vision” was starting to fade and I needed to start pushing myself again. And I feel as though a 52 week project wouldn’t quite be enough for me at the moment.
For this 365 I am going to be setting up certain rules for myself. I honestly haven’t completely decided what these rules will be yet, but I do know that I will be doing at least one self-portrait every single week. Sort of a 365 and 52 week hybrid if you will. I will be figuring out the rest of the rules tonight or tomorrow I suppose, ha.
This evening I finally got the chance to go on a photo adventure. It was the first time in ages I was able to just go out with no destination or specific idea and just shoot. It was so wonderful, and luckily my good friend Danielle was in town long enough to join me. As always we had a hilarious time, and got some awesome shots out of it. More to come from this most likely!
Also, I just shot a wedding on Saturday, so expect pictures from that soon!
Without further ado, here is the first of 365 more pictures from me. Enjoy!
We took Pixel to the vet for the first time yesterday. He was super tired all yesterday and all of today, but finally this evening he was back to his playful self. We also found out that he is about 6 months old, and is a Classic Brown Tabby. The vet was just amazed by how pretty he is, and confirmed our thinking that he looked like a South American jungle cat, haha.
I head home to MN tomorrow for two weeks or so, and so I figured now was a good time for a picture of Pixel. But goodness a 6 month old, playful kitten is hard to photograph; especially in low light.
I have had this idea in my head for the longest time, and finally was able to do it today, with the help of my friend Danielle. It was a hilarious shoot, always is with her.
I am pretty happy with how it came out too, although I wish I had even more vibrant blue makeup for it. Perhaps another time. Pretty much straight out of camera, just a small crop and some minor retouching to get rid of spots from my dirty sensor.
