350/366 – Steam

After being in such a stunning place for the past few days, I was struggling with motivation for today’s 366 now that I am back in Kansas. I got this in my head and decided to go with it, and it ended up turning out much, much better than I had hoped.

And I am all caught up now, which I was not expecting to happen today!

17/366 – Winter Experiments

This is what happens when you pour boiling water in 10 degrees (-6 with the wind). I had planned this little experiment a week or so ago when it was even colder, but ended up not having time. I was expecting the glass to crack, and so thought I would get one, quick shot at it. I was pleasantly surprised by the results I must say. No cracked glass, and the steam coming off each individual drop was awesome to me.

198/365 – Melting

It was so hot tonight, at least it felt like it as I took self-portraits, which involved 3 outfit changes. I got home and realized I didn’t take any 365 pictures while out, and since it was so hot some melting ice would be appropriate.

193/365 – Coffee and Cream

I am constantly fascinated with how liquids behave, especially drops into liquids. I don’t think it is something that I will ever get used to or grow sick of seeing.

I am not a huge coffee drinker despite the fact that I own a coffee maker (left to me by my sister-in-law). However when my dad was in town he bought some coffee and creamer, and so I decided today I needed to drink so. Plus it was just a good day for it. I recently saw a picture on Flickr of a drop of cream into coffee and so I wanted to give it a try. I know it isn’t the most interesting or spectacular image, but I am pretty happy with the results. I may upload a couple of others, at different “‘stages” of the drop.

I used a SB-600 on camera, bounced off a wall, but unfortunately cannot remember what I had it set at. Any feedback would be appreciated, I am always looking to improve!

149/365 – Coals

My absolute favorite thing about summer is grilling out. This summer I have grilled out at least 2-3 times a week, usually just by myself. I love it. Tonight Elliot and I grilled some burgers and corn for dinner, a perfect summer meal in my opinion.
