moments of light.

I have always been very interested in capturing moments of beautiful natural light. The way that light reflects off of things, shines through and wraps around, casting beautifully unique shadows and ripples of light, is fascinating to me. Lately I seem to be even more drawn (borderline obsessed perhaps) to these things, and often stop in the middle of whatever I am doing to capture these little moments.

The first two are from my phone, because that is what I consistently have easily available when these moments happen. And, unfortunately I accidentally cleared off some of my favorite images (or I expected them to be) from my SD card before transferring them to my computer. I’m hopingĀ to re-shoot a similar thing soon, but for now here are some of my recently documentedĀ “moments of light” to share with you.

169/366 – Drive

*Friday, October 10
Yesterday I drove from Kansas to Kentucky. I left when it was still dark and saw the sun come up. There were so many times that I wanted to stop and take some photographs, but I was determined to get to KY asap so that I could see my fiance and so stopping was not an option.
Both images were taken with my phone. The left was in Kansas, and the right in Indiana.

167/366 – Morning

Thursday, June 21

Friday morning was my frist time meeting my little nephews. They were sound asleep when we got in the night before, so when they woke up in the morning I was immediately in their room to see them. They were born very premature and because of that still have to have their breathing and heart rate monitored. I loved his glowing little foot, and had to grab a few pictures.

96/366 – Woods

Wednesday, April 11

Not my typical image, and to be honest I don’t really like it all that much. But, I felt I should at least try to branch out a little (no pun intended).

This is what I look at every morning while sipping on coffee waiting for the kids I nanny to wake up. Such a good way to start the day.

73/366 – Handprint

My internet became nonexistent when I went to upload my picture last night, and I was too exhausted to try to get it working, so here is yesterday’s picture.

I nanny for a 4 year old and 18 month old, so of course handprints are all over anything glass. The morning light was hitting this one and it caught my eye so I snapped of a few pictures while I waited for the boys to wake up.
