Konza Prairie

A few weeks ago (yes, I am just now finally getting around to sharing) I went for a quick hike in the Konza Prairie. I had apparently just missed the controlled burns there, and was struck by how bare this landscape now looked. Also, I am indeed aware that I am slightly obsessed with images of vanishing points, so that is mostly what I shot while there. The contrast between the untouched path and burned land around it fascinated me that day.

48/365 – Green

I went for a short hike today at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary. I was originally planning on going for an extremely long hike at the Red River Gorge and so I had packed a lunch and such, but decided last-minute I wanted something a bit more relaxing and a place to just sit and breathe with nothing around so that I could clear my head. I stumbled on this spot, and ate my lunch on some rocks just to the right of this picture. It was a perfect spot and was just what I needed.

Extras

Here are some more random pictures from my current 365 that I thought deserved sharing. I am also going to be making a separate post of just a few extra self-portraits, and a big post of pictures from the Red River Gorge within the next few days, so keep checking back!

46/52 – Smoke and Mirrors

This weekend I went on a mini spring break trip to Gatlinburg, TN with a group of some great friends. I had wanted smoke bombs for pictures for a long time, and since I was in TN I just had to buy some. This is not anywhere near my original idea, but I kind of love how it turned out.

Big, big thanks to all the helpers I had for this picture! I couldn’t have done it without you guys!

42/52 – Clean

This was such a last-minute idea, yet these are my favorite pictures that I have ever taken of myself. I had the hardest time choosing, so there will most likely be another post with the others that I loved.

Basically straight out of the camera too, just some basic and minimal editing.

34/52 – Simple

It has been such a long time since I have done a 52 week shot. I took this on the same day that Whitney and I went on out shoot (it took me a while to get around to editing it). After such a failed attempt at Raven Run (where I wanted to do my self-portrait) we just went to my backyard where I decided to do a simple head shot.

86/365 – Easter egg hunt

Yes, the grass tins again. I hope they aren’t getting boring. I got these chocolates in the mail from my mom a couple days ago, and thought this would be a fun little shoot. I had a hard time deciding on a picture, so I may post more on here later on (yes I know, I say that all the time.)
