I completely forgot to take a picture today until well after dark. We had just finished adding on this front patio to my parents’ house, and so I thought it might make for a nice photograph. I didn’t think of adding myself in until I started shooting.

152/366 – Baby Birds
I love when an image for my 366 just presents itself to me and I don’t even have to think about it. I had other plans for todays photograph, but then my mom told me about these birds.
The guys re-siding our house today knocked these little guys out of their nest, but they built a new one for them on the ground with grass clippings. The parents were still coming back to feed them and watch over them, even when we were standing near by.
93/365 – Moleskins
262/365 – Deceptive
Yesterday I ended up being pretty busy, and didn’t get around to uploading a picture, so here it is.
And, here is the debut of my first logo! I most likely will change it some still (I think that there were around 4 versions before this one that finally made it on a photo), but for now, here it is. Let me know what you think!

252/365 – Computer Guts and Experimenting
Confession time: I have a nerd as a boyfriend. Yes, it was hard to admit, but it is true, Elliot is a huge nerd. Tonight he had two friends over for a LAN party. I don’t know all that much about these things, but I know his friends all brought their huge desktop computer’s (built by themselves of course), their huge monitors, controllers, and a crazy amount of wires. They hooked everything up, and were attempting to play Halo. That failed (lots of technical problems, which is ironic since they all work in the same computer repair place), so then they decided to play Starcraft (which Elliot plays on an almost nightly basis). So here I am, sitting on the floor (all the seating space is taken up by computer parts), editing pictures, and listening to their hilarious nerd talk. I didn’t have a picture for today, so naturally it had to be something computer related.

Elliot’s apartment doesn’t have any lights, other than the one lamp he brought in, so I was trying to use flash. Elliot was helping me for a bit with his handheld flash and an electronic eye, but then got distracted, so I used my hand to block my on camera flash and kept getting these “flares” of sorts. I thought it was fun, so here it is.
And still playing with the handheld flash, and the newly refilled bowl of skittles. They don’t at all look like my normal pictures, but I kind of like them because they are so different.
229/365 – Water Balloons
I had been wanting to try this for such a long time, and yesterday I finally had a chance! I was inspired by the Christian Student Fellowship’s mission of bringing back the record of the world’s largest water balloon fight. This will be the third year they have held this event, and each year has been bigger. We held the record from last year’s fight, but a college this summer beat it. CSF had already been planning on having the water balloon fight again this year, but now there is the new goal of bringing back the record. It goes down tonight, at 11:55, so we will see what happens.
My lovely roommate Whitney helped me out with this adventure. We looked like little kids sitting in the front yard filling up water balloons, each with a wrist of silly bands on. We rigged up a little stand to hold the water balloons (which involved an old tripod, a stick, duct tape, rubber bands, and a chip clip. Whitney then used Elliot’s BB gun that he has left at my house to shoot the balloons. We had such a blast doing this, and have thought up some other ideas for a little series of balloons!
I am pretty pleased with the results, except for the high ISO I had to use. I think next time I either brave the intense sun or use a flash.
One final note: I liked most of the ones we did, and so I am just going to post them here instead of spamming with another post. The first one is the one that I have selected as my main 365 though.

And here are the rest.
This one was one of the first ones that I took, and I still didn’t have my shutter speed high enough which is why it is slightly blurred. But I still liked it so I am including it.
218/365 – Summer Sweet Corn
Sweet corn is one of my favorite things about summer. I could eat it almost (if not every) every night. I was outside on my parent’s patio shucking the corn, and looked up into the big locust tree and immediately knew I wanted a picture of the corn with that as the background.
I also took a different approach to editing this. I read somewhere today that you should never edit the same way twice. Which is sort of what I do, constantly. I have my saved presets in curves and things like that, and obviously I tweak for each specific photograph, but I haven’t really tried anything new lately. So, I took a few new approaches to this one, and absolutely love it. Enjoy!
Oh, and, I really wish corn started with an “s” so that I could have had triple alliteration.

104/365 – New Glow
Today is a day of a bunch of random thoughts. So, prepare yourself if you choose to read on.
I wish leaves could stay this bright green color year round. I love it more than I can explain.
I love when I take a ton of pictures for the day, and when going through to select one to edit, one just immediately jumps out at me and I get super excited about it.
Earlier today I was thinking about my photographs, and I started getting really frustrated. I was sick of taking pictures of normal, every day things. I wanted something exciting and beautiful and extraordinary. I was feeling totally uninspired and almost didn’t want to take a picture today. But then on the drive home from school the clouds were stunning, and i walked out in my front yard, and looked up, and saw this. And I was completely satisfied with taking pictures of “mundane” things, because, maybe it’s just me, but this isn’t so mundane. I think it is pretty darn incredible and beautiful. It is incredible how God (yes, I give all credit to him) gives me inspiration when I need it the most.
Sorry about the long “rant” of sorts, it needed to come out.
Oh, and this is late because my school was playing Avatar for free in the student center. I couldn’t pass that up.
