212/366 – Hall

*Monday, August 6
Monday was moving day. I couldn’t check in until 10am though, so I took my family to campus to show them my studio building while we waited. All I had with me was my phone unfortunately, so I grabbed this quick while we walked around.

303/365 – Paper writing setup

Today has been insanely busy, and I totally forgot/didn’t have time to take a picture until just now, at 1 am. I am currently writing a paper that is due tomorrow, and will be working on it for a while still, so this is all I could manage for a picture today. Lame, yes, but it is a real documentation of my life tonight.

265/365 – Screen Printed Mishy!

So I know this isn’t the most interesting or exciting photograph, but, I was just so excited about my print! I am currently in a printmaking class, which is all about screen printing. We just learned the reduction process using 3 colors, and I decided to use my picture of Mishy (from day 243) for my project. We also learned how to use photo emulsion for our images, which is how I did all of this.

On a side note…only 100 days left! Wow!

235/365 – Staples

Last night in printmaking  (we are learning about screen printing) we were prepping our frames for new mesh. We had to pull all the old staples out so that we could staple the mesh onto the frame without hitting the old staples. It was such fun, and I managed to cut myself.

And for the fun of it here is a reverse lens shot as well:

32/365 – Untitled

Well I decided to post one more from my project, which I will finally go ahead and describe a little.

My project for my studio this summer was a self-portrait project (for those who did not know). The project was focusing on growing up and gaining independence and such. It is a series of self-portraits, that go in a progression from essentially childhood to after college (this image posted here is actually the final image in the series). I am currently in the process of laying out a book for the project, and plan on selling this book once I get it all finished. If interested in purchasing be sure to let me know, it will be a limited edition type of thing so there won’t be many copies available. Or if you would like more information feel free to ask!

30/52 – Untitled

This was from my studio project that I recently wrapped up. I decided I will not be using most of them for my 52 week shots, just this one and one of my other favorites. Then I have one more that I took since I have been in MN and  I will be all caught up on my 52 week pictures!

22/52 – Letting go of the world

This was from a week or so ago, and was taken after talking to my professor at some length about my project. We decided I just needed to get out and shoot like crazy without worrying about lighting or poses or anything, just shoot. I also kind of decided I wanted to try to stick to entirely perspective/leading shots, but we will see if that sticks.

And the bear. I am going to include one of each from now on, in the same post to keep things simple.

20/52 – Waiting for something better.

I have had these pictures for such a long time, but am just now getting around to posting them. This is for my studio project this summer (potentially?), and at this point I was still using strobes. Not in love with this picture at all, but I like it enough to post it.

And, so that I don’t overload with posts today here is another one from the shoot, with the bear.Which I think I have decided will be an important part of my project.  I am not a huge fan of this picture either, but I like it enough to post, and to give an idea of what I am working towards for those of you who are interested.

I am interested what you all think about these. Let me know what sort of emotion/mood and possible meaning (if any) you could get out of it! That way I can start to figure out if these are total failures. Thanks so much!

148/365 – Caged In

It has been a rough couple of days for me. My class ends on Tuesday, and I have so much to do before that so I am fairly stressed. And I want more than anything to be back in MN for a little right now. It has been around 6.5 months since I have been home and seen my family and friends. It is taking its toll on me at the moment.

This is in my studio building, where I was for a while today.
