348/366 – Sit

*Wednesday, January 9

Wednesday I had originally planned on heading back to Kansas, but then it was supposed to almost hit 60 degrees and I couldn’t resist staying. We took a long walk with the twins, with stops for caramel apples and popcorn along the way.

345/366 – Climbing

*Sunday, January 6

Sunday was an awesome day, and so it calls for multiple pictures. My brother, his friend and I got up early and headed to one of the ice climbing spots in Spearfish Canyon. It was my first time ice climbing, but I am hooked (unfortunately I live nowhere near a place to ice climb). After we all had a chance to get on the ice we packed up and went rock climbing just up the canyon a bit. It definitely reignited my desire to climb again. My school just finished a climbing wall in the rec center, so I plan on checking it out as soon as it is open.

Not taken by me (obviously), but I thought I would share one of me ice climbing.

344/366 – Wind

*Saturday, January 5

Saturday I morning I packed up my car and headed out to my brother’s house on the far side of South Dakota. It was incredibly windy, making driving in some parts quite difficult. It was such a bizarre sensation driving through these patches of blowing snow; it felt like I was floating on top of a cloud.

62/365 – American

I am back to civilization after a week-long camping trip in Rocky Mountain National Park! Before I get down to the picture and explanation of the day, I should give a quick update.

We drove straight through yesterday (almost a 17 hour trip), and got in late last night. So now it is time to play catch up, which is going to take some serious work. I am incredibly backed up on everything now. Between the wedding I shot the day before I left and the hundreds of pictures that I took each day while camping, it is going to take me a while to sort through everything and get caught up. I only have a week in Minnesota before I head back to Kentucky, so I also have lots of catching up to do with friends that I haven’t seen in almost 9 months. Add in various things that my mom wants me to get done for her (paintings and prints), and keeping up with my 365, it is going to be a crazy busy week. I will be posting lots to get back on track, and will be giving accounts of each day with the picture as well. Then, after I am caught up on my 365 and wedding stuff, I will post all of the pictures from the trip that didn’t make the main 365 image. So stick with me as I try to sort through everything and get organized and caught up!

*Saturday, July 30 – Somewhere in South Dakota (I think)

After getting just a couple of hours of sleep I woke up to finish packing and get ready for the trip with my family. We were on the road by 8:30am or so, and headed to my brother’s house in South Dakota where we spent the night before continuing on to Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP). This was taken at one of the many stops for gas, but I can’t remember if it was in Minnesota or South Dakota.
