Katie + Luke

Over Thanksgiving break (which was ages ago, I know) I was lucky enough to be able to get together with Luke and Katie to shoot their engagement photographs. I have been friends with Luke and Katie since 10th grade or so, and they have been dating for just about as long. These two are some of my favorite people, and so I was ecstatic when they asked if I would photograph them. We decided that our hometown of Stillwater, Minnesota would be the best location for our shoot, since it was where we did our growing up and where their relationship got its start. They are two of the most laid-back, easy-going people I know, and were complete naturals in front of the camera. I rarely had to direct them, and we spent the entire session laughing despite the bitter cold of the evening. We ended the session in a local coffee shop to warm up and thaw our fingers, though at that point we were mostly just catching up and laughing about the old days.

So, without further ado, meet the wonderful Luke and Katie!

343/366 – Tiramisu

The past week has been a whirlwind. Last week I somewhat spontaneously decided to make a trip to South Dakota to visit my brother and his family before coming back to Manhattan. Between getting ready for that, saying goodbyes, and my adventure there I haven’t had a chance to post. However, I am back in Manhattan now so it is time to get caught up. There are some exciting pictures to come!

Friday was a busy day of last-minute get togethers and goodbyes. I met up with one of my best friends for “lunch” at a local cafe where I indulged in some delicious tiramisu.

183/366 – Leo’s

*Saturday, July 7
Saturday we had yet another dream day. We biked to downtown Stillwater, walked around for a while, then ate lunch at my favorite place in Stillwater. Well, he ate lunch, I had a chocolate raspberry malt.
Also, Saturday marked the half-way point in this project. Crazy.

April 28

Yesterday I spent the afternoon with my bridesmaid, and we stopped by the ceremony site for my wedding. I wasn’t excited about planning this wedding until I found this location, and now I cannot wait for everything to come together.
