When I was in Minnesota in the middle of August I was fortunate enough to spend lots of time with my precious nephew. We spent a day together, along with my mom, which involved a walk to a pier for some rock throwing, eating popsicles, throwing plums into the garden, and playing with water. It was a blast to see this little guy constantly on the move, and I made it my goal to photograph our adventures that day.
I could have sworn I already shared some of these images (since they are from this spring), but apparently they got lost in the shuffle.
Scott and I both really enjoy fishing, and this spring we went quite often. Unfortunately because of the heat, both of us fighting some long-lasting illnesses at the beginning of the summer, and our generally busy schedules we haven’t gone much lately. I also was pretty bad about actually shooting images with my camera (I got lazy and just used my phone most of the time) while we were out, despite bringing it along. But, here are the images that I did capture.

Here are two others that I liked from the shoot a month ago. I have found a new obsession with fabric in my self-portraits, and have a couple more images in mind with it. Hopefully I can get those shot in the next few weeks.

And a few behind the scenes shots for you all. And a chance for me to introduce you all to the greatest photo assistant of all time, Scott. He was willing to sit there wrapped in tulle while I figured out my composition and such, and still managed to look manly 🙂
A couple of weeks ago I went home with Scott (the boyfriend) to meet his parents for the first time. His parents have a big, beautiful farm in central Kansas, and even though we have been there a few times now I still haven’t even scratched the surface of what I would like to photograph there. Here is a small sampling of images that I shot over the past few visits.
They are surrounded by seemingly endless, gorgeous wheat fields. I have a small obsession with them I have realized. In the spring they are a stunning green, and then come summer they turn an amazingly rich gold. The texture is awesome for photographs, and watching as well as listening to a wheat field in the wind has to be one of the best things ever.
They have lots of animals on their farm, though I haven’t photographed most of them. This cat is absolutely precious, though extremely sick. She has taken a liking to me, and the last time I was there did her best to follow me around as I was shooting.
Last weekend while we were there for a short visit I was able to shoot a self-portrait that I am quite excited about. I am currently in the process of editing that, and when I get it done I will post it here, so be sure to check back!
I have a huge backlog of photographs sitting on my hard drive that I need to post. Since I have today off I figured it would be good to start catching up some. Brace yourself for completely random, unrelated images that span all the way back to April…
And expect a few more blog posts (with a little more cohesiveness to them) later today!

Yikes. I am very behind. I just moved from Minnesota to Kansas, so things have been busy and life was more important than uploading or shooting. Details of each day will be posted with the pictures. Here we go…

Wednesday was a busy, long day of work and packing. I figured I should take advantage of my last few days living at my parents’ with the beautiful backyard.
The Impossible Project (where I purchase all my polaroid film) has a feature on their blog every Sunday titled “Sunday Brunch”. Every Sunday they feature 5 photographs that stood out to them that week, and it is always so interesting to see what people are shooting with this unique style of photography.
