Blue Giraffe

This semester I moved to a new studio, one that has windows. I was so excited to finally have natural light in my studio, so I brought in some plants to decorate my windowsill. I still felt like I needed more color, and was inspired by all the gold-leafed or painted animals I had seen on Pinterest. So, meet Gerald the blue giraffe!

Also, I have noticed many new followers in the past few weeks, and I would love to meet you all and hear how you found my blog! Welcome to the blog and I hope you enjoy!

291/366 – Propagating

I replanted one of my succulents the other day, and decided to try to propagate some of the leaves. Basically all you do is gently pull off a leaf from the stem, let it dry out for a few days, and then place them on top of wet soil for a few weeks (or so I have read). I had planted one leaf in some soil a bit ago, and it grew roots but no other leaves. I’m hoping these do better so that I can have some new plants soon!

268/366 – The warmth of being cool

*Thursday, October 9
There is something about the late evening light on those cool fall days that just makes me smile and feel warm despite the cold.

I was busy packing and cleaning up my apartment and noticed the light in my window and had to grab some shots. Straight out of the camera as well.
