323/365 – Spoiled Rotten

This is what happens when a pear is so rotten that it fails to do anything exciting when shot with a bb gun, or when dropped.

I saw this pear in my mom’s fruit basket when I got home Wednesday, and it was already past ripe so I asked if I could shoot it with a bb gun in hopes of getting some cool high-speed photograph. We finally had time today, with my dad shooting, but instead of anything awesome happening, the bb just went in and got stuck. Nothing flew off, nothing exploded, or even moved. It was silly. So then we thought we could just drop it and maybe something cool would happen. But, it was just too rotten, and in stead of splattering, it just collapsed on itself and went splat into one pile.

322/365 – Minneapolis Institute of Arts

Today I went to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts with my mom and sister. I was supposed to go to an art museum in Cincinnati for a class of mine, but since I was going to be home for thanksgiving I decided that I wanted to go to one in Minneapolis instead. It was so great going to the MIA. It was free, which was wonderful, and I saw actual works by some of my favorite artists. Overall, it was a  great day!

321/365 – Gentle

I really could not decide which picture I should use for the day, so I am going to post the 2 that were also options along with the one that barely became the winner.

This one is very similar, I know, but I just couldn’t decide. I really don’t like that the sun is pretty much right in the center of this one, which is why it didn’t win.

And some footprints left in the snow by little creatures.

320/365 – Happy Thanksgiving!

I figured since today is thanksgiving my picture should be related. So, here is our delicious turkey before and after. I can’t even begin to say how thankful I am to be home this thanksgiving, I love my family so much! Thank you all for the incredible support you have given me!

Happy thanksgiving to all you wonderful people out there! I hope you all had an excellent day!

319/365 – From Above

For the first time since freshman year I was able to go home for thanksgiving break!!! I really can’t believe I am staying up to post this, but, I want to stay on top of things. My flight left this (well, yesterday now) morning at 6:30 am. That meant that I was up at 3:45 am to get ready, and since I went to bed around 2:00 am, I am running on just about 2 hours of sleep. And today has been packed with family and friend time. I really couldn’t be happier to be home. The snow (which we got some fresh today; what a perfect welcome home!), the cold, the company, everything is just so excellent. Other than being completely exhausted that is, but it is all worth it.

Anyways, I knew that since I was flying I wanted my 365 to be related to that. So here is a photograph I took out the window when we were just about to begin landing in Minneapolis. Definitely not the greatest picture from a plane, but, my window was dirty, my lens wasn’t liking the situation, and I didn’t want people thinking I was some girl all excited about flying and needing to document everything by taking a million pictures. And yes, I just made a ton of excuses for myself, I apologize. And yes, I am rambling because it is late and I have been awake since 4:00 am, with 2 hours of sleep.

317/365 – Mechanical

This is one of the printing presses (I assume, since we don’t actually use it in screen printing) in the print making studio, with some heavy editing.

316/365 – Play Time

**Sunday, November 21

I didn’t intend for yesterday’s picture to be of Pixel, but I was playing around early in the day, and then things got busy and I didn’t get around to doing anything else. So, once again, here is our kitty.

On an unrelated note, for those of you who know Flickr, my pro account ran out. I didn’t think I was going to miss it, but now that it is gone, yikes, free Flickr does not quite cut it. Too bad I barely have money for food, let alone upgrading my Flickr account. That said, if you should feel the desire to support this starving artist, I am always selling prints, just message or comment and we will work something out! And thank you all for the comments and encouragement!

315/365 – Making Wishes

**Saturday, November 20

Yesterday I was working on my printmaking project, which involved using paint markers on tracing paper. I was bored, and procrastinating other work, so I drew a star, and immediately got an idea for a picture. Originally, I was going to hang these in a different way, and I was going to do it outside. But, I had this wire out from teaching on Monday, and I got the idea to hang them using curled wire. It took me so long to finish it all that I didn’t have enough daylight to take the outside, or figure out where I could hang them. So, I decided to just try using the light over my kitchen table. This is by far the most effort I have put into a picture for a long, long time. And for the most part I am pretty happy with how it came out. It isn’t exactly what I had in mind, and I may at some point try my original idea, but for now, here are the stars.

Oh, and Whitney and I decided it looked kind of cool so it is going to be left on the light for now, haha.
